I'm not sure what you even mean - "ransom off" my vote? Hillary is not the nominee, nor is she the VP. Case closed. But it is not her job to deliver her supporters but rather Obama's to WIN us - just like any other politician. You seem to believe he is above needing to do this. You are wrong. 18 million people is HALF of the Demcratic party. Misplaced pride ("he doesn't need you") will only lead to failure - and everyone blaming Clinton for something she cannot control. (Cont. UncleRico)I of course disagree with you about Sen. Clinton, and I can name at least two dozen things she's accomplished as reasons why I supported her. On the contrary, I have not found one Obama supporter who can tell me why they support him, other than he's cool and will bring "change." I have never witnessed an election where the winning dem supporters have such vitriole against others -as if they take it personally that we're not on the Obama train. His supporters need to GET OVER IT.

Perhaps, I'm not articulating this with clarity. Obama will be president. If you want to vote for Hillary, why not just vote for her using the write in feature during the national elections? It seems petty to me for Hillary supporters to whine about not getting the parties nomination, and it goes against all the charactersitics of what Obama stands for. As for why we support Obama, it's a combination of issues as well as personal traits. You can read the specifics on his website in pdf form.

If you like McCain, then by all means, vote for McCain. It's somewhat pathetic to say you're going to vote for McCain because Hillary isn't part of the bigger Democratic picture. In essence, it's simply complaining in the form of being a sore loser.

Who mentioned McCain? - you choose to see this in the starkest of terms and I think you mistake being dismissive for "taking the high road." "Take it or leave it" rarely works in politics. If Obama does not directly court Hillary supporters, he will lose the presidency. The ENTIRE Democratic party supported Kerry in 2004 and he still lost. But you would rather dismiss than try to understand the heartbreak on the other side - something you would be feeling if it were the other way around.

Here's a suggestion, since you don't seem to be getting it. If Obama said this: "To all the Hillary supporters, I know how disappointed you are and how much you wanted her to be the nominee. I understand. But I ask you now to join us - I want you and I need you - we can only make this grand and important change together. We still have the same dream, this is still your dream too." Instead, we get "take it or leave it" and "get over it." See the difference? DIPLOMACY.

I'm feeling that Obama doesn't really want Hillary or Bill involved in his campaign. I don't think Obama wants to be associated with Bill Clinton, because he's a philanderer and a liar. His wife is politically ambitious and is in the pocket of the lobbyists. So, she doesn't fit the Obama mold. She's more like McCain and if you . The Clintons have done nothing but great things for this country - everyone knows it, hence the rousing applause for him last night.
