and if they'd rather go very far back, giuliani's approval ratings in Feb 11, 1998 was 74. the only reason the ratings went down in 2000 from the high 60's to the low 50's was because of his devorce from his wife. before that he was a very succesful mayor.

America's Fraud indeed. He rode on the success of NYC's economy, to try and give himself the credit that he "cleaned up the city". The Police department used the money to get the crime lords off of the streets and even though it was a good strategy Giuliani handled it very poorly. The crime rate was down 12 percent but shot back up 23 percent during the end of his tenure as mayor.
