I agree that bands release their albums overseas before North America...but the Black Swan is not out in any part of the world yet....I highly doubt this guy bought the cd...because he even said he got it from the INTERNET!

i bought all the story of the year cds out so far. i intend to buy the new one, since i'm a faceless guy on the internet, i've got nothing to prove.
but the idea that music is just a commodity to be bought and to bring revenue just tarnishes whatever intrinsic value it possesses. that's what i'm trying to say. leave the music by itself. the cds are what im talking about. the cd isn't their music. their music is their music. the cd is just there to support their music.

dont berate me about this. i completely support the band. i buy their cds, but i also listen to leaked stuff. but i buy the final product too, since it's more mastered and the ability to distinguish sounds in music important to me. so by my doctrine i'm doing nothing wrong.
you however, you show hypocrisy by even look at this video, anyway.
ps dont make music about the money. let's take out the business out of music for once.

oh and i forgot. music pirates aren't fans if they don't buy the cd. don't compare me to them.
as long as story of the year has a great following (fans who anticipate their cd and satiate with leaks but still buy their cd, like me and everyone else commenting here [probably]), then it doesn't matter. they will keep making their music.
that's my point.

I wish I could talk like you. I would've bought the cds, if the music industry wasn't so fucked up by downloading. I am a great fan of music, but I simply cannot afford to buy all the cds of the bands I listen to. It would amount to about 500 cds, only of the bands I listen to regularly.
You see, the downloading problem is accumulative, or rather degenerative since prices go up, and with the prices downloads go up. As mentioned before, the music industry is at its end if nothing changes soon.

i don't like using the word fuck without it carrying weight, but how fucked up the music industry justifies your use. seriously, some record labels try to compromise styles to make it more "marketable". that's the worse part of the industry, it's hardly ever about the artist, it's about how much the artist can sell. milk them dry.
we need more bands radiohead or artists like trent reznor. these guys i hope keep doing what they do and revolutionize or at least break the industry.

the slip is completely free, i would have paid maybe 10 bucks for it (my ideal price for cds), but trent reznor was nice enough to give it for free! take the industry out of the music industry, and let music live with dignity for once.
