The Congressional Budget Office itself has estimated that we'll save between $100 and $200 billion by switching to single-payer. Other countries that have UHC spend far less than us (canada is at 1/2 U.S. per capita) and provide essentially the same care. 47 million people (Kaiser f. est) have no health care, and provide a greater drain on the sys when they go for em. care.
